Post Pregnancy Weight Loss Weight Check – Week 2

I have been writing about my post pregnancy weight loss experience for a number of weeks. In the first post of this series I share my weight and measurements, last week I shared my week 1 weight loss and today I’m here to share week 2 weight check.

How the week went

In these weight check posts, I want to share with you all, the comings and goings of the week.

Highs

  • In advance of the grocery shopping, I completed a meal plan for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This really worked for me, I’m definitely going to continue with this strategy. I think having a thorough plan for the week, set me on the right path.
  • I bought slimming world friendly snacks. I’m following slimming world on this weight loss journey and some items need to be tracked as syns. You are allowed to have 5-15 syns per days. I researched snacks of a certain syn count and purchased these. I have an awful sweet tooth and knew I’d need a sugar boost throughout the week.

Lows

  • No exercise, I could give you many excuses as to why but the real reason is I’m lazy and decided to pass on exercise this week.
  • Sunday: like most days it started well, around 5 pm is where it took a turn. We had our Sunday dinner in Robert’s parents and for some reason, I am always prone to snacking after it. At dinner, I eat enough and feel full but every Sunday without fail I snack a lot in the evening. This particular Sunday I didn’t stop at snacking, I placed an order in the local chip shop and had chipper chips, Southern fried chicken and a sausage.
  • Not enough water!

Weight Check

I completely forgot to take a picture of my weigh in so you will have to take my word for it.

Monday 17th April my weight was: 187.8lbs, that is a weight gain of 0.8lbs this week. After doing so well during the week, I ruined everything with an evening of eating the wrong choices.

Going forward

I will continue with meal planning and weight everything that is considered a syn. We waste so much food here, I buy fruit with great intentions but never get around to eating it, to combat this I plan to sort the fruit into portions and store in plastic tubs. I’m hoping this method will help me. I will also try to increase my water intake and get out at least once for some exercise. It may not seem a great plan but going back to basics will help.

Until next week, I wish you all well with your plans for this week.

  1. I think it’s great that you’re blogging about your post pregnancy weight loss! It’s refreshing to see the highs and lows of your journey, it shows that even though each week may not be perfect, you’re still moving forward! 🙂

  2. I’m sorry your week ended with a bit of a weight gain. But luckily, you’ve got a solid plan for turning that around! Good luck with your week!

  3. Thinking good thoughts for you as you continue your weight loss journey to get back to the weight you want to be. It takes a lot of work and a lot of being mindful, but I know that you can do it.

    1. I’m unsure, but most likely the ladies body shape will change afterwards. Some may find that they eat more as during pregnancy your appetite increases.

  4. I feel your pain! I need to loose my baby weight in order to look presentable for her baptism in June! It’s so hard though because I am breastfeeding her and I am always hungry! Good luck to both of us!

  5. It needs lot of effort to control the temptation of specific food items when you’re cutting down ur weight post pregnancy.

  6. I have heard from my friends that post pregnancy weight loss can be particularly slow and sometimes very emotional draining. You have to take care of a new born and in that stressful time it is easy to just grab a chocolate instead of a salad. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to reading about week 3 🙂

  7. I had gained 40lbs with my 2 pregnancies overall and was stuck even my LO was over 6months and bfing. I was doing 30 min walk in the morning, cardio for 30min at evening, eating 1200cal, and still was unable to melt down those extra stones. However, with the help of Mummy magic weight loss tea, I managed to shed about 33lbs in 10weeks.
Still I’ve to lose almost 10 extra pounds but I’m still drinking the tea and hope will be back to my goal sooner.
